Heat transfer fluids or Heat transfer oils

The ability of MARLOTHERM ® heat transfer fluids or heat transfer oils for indirect cooling and heating over wide temperature ranges makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications. The use of these organic components is mainly linked to certain processes in the production of both chemical raw materials and high-quality finished products. Thermal fluids or thermal oils are used to heat and cool reactors of the most varied types. They also provide heat in distillation columns. Thermal heat transfer fluids or oils can also be used for cooling strongly exothermic processes, such as those that occur in the synthesis of ethylene oxide, aniline or formaldehyde. They can also be used in waste heat recovery circuits for greater energy efficiency.

​The MARLOTHERM ® heat transfer fluids are designed for the indirect cooling and heating of energy production, conversion and recovery processes, and guarantee reliable operation in the temperature range of -90 °C at 360°C.

Properties of our heat transfer fluids o heat transfer oils

MARLOTHERM SH

It is our high performance synthetic heat transfer fluid for non-pressurized systems and temperatures up to 350ºC (Bulk product outlet temperature) and 380ºC (film temperature). Provides excellent thermal stability and is miscible with MARLOTHERM LH for specific requirements.

MARLOTHERM LH

This high performance synthetic organic heat transfer fluid is used in the liquid phase and vapor-liquid phase of closed forced circulation heat transfer systems. The product has been specially developed for combined heating and cooling cycles.

MARLOTHERM N

It is our synthetic organic heat transfer fluid that can replace mineral oil based heat transfer fluids. The product can be pumped down to -10°C and is thermally stable at high temperatures.

MARLOTHERM FG

MARLOTHERM FG heat transfer fluid offers resistance to high temperatures and is used in the food industry. MARLOTHERM FG complies with the regulations CFR 21 parts 178.3530 and 178.3650 of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The product has been assigned to the HT1 category (eventual contact with food) by the NSF.

MARLOTHERM XD

It is our synthetic organic heat transfer fluid used in the liquid phase in non-pressurized systems in lower temperature ranges. MARLOTHERM XD complies with FDA regulation CFR 21 parts 178.3530 and 178.3650.

MARLOTHERM XC

It is a heat transfer fluid for combined heating and cooling cycles. This product has been specially developed for use in cooling systems.

Polycondensation and Polymerization

Polycondensation follows a more moderate reaction sequence and, depending on the size of the plant, can be adequately carried out with amounts of heat transfer media as low as 10 to 40 m3. Extremely fine temperature adjustments are required to prevent discoloration and irreparable damage to the polycondensate product.
